Approach

My approach is a diversion from mainstream western psychology which focuses on identifying and treating disorders. Instead, my view is that such disorders are actually symptoms of living in a disordered society that doesn’t allow most people to develop some of their innate resources. I focus on working with clients to cultivate underdeveloped personal resources. This is about cultivating wholeness rather than fixing disorders.

I incorporate elements of mindful-somatic therapy (like IFS), as well as a psycho-spiritual framework. I draw from attachment-based neuroscience, trauma-informed practices, and strive to be culturally sensitive. My aim is to be holistic and integrative, tailoring to your specific needs, seeking to bring balance to your life. That can mean attending to the mind and emotions; the felt experience of the body; the status of relationships and occupation; or one's relationship with the spiritual, trans-personal, or unseen elements.

I find it important to offer short term, practical relief while attending also to what lies below the surface and fuels unwanted patterns. Therapy can be a lot of things. It should be both fun and challenging at times. As clients progressively share more of their inner world (especially that which has remained beyond their awareness) their sense of self, conviction, and agency are strengthened.
